No credit check mobile phone contracts being offered by Shebang
I notice that Shebang are offering a 12 month mobile phone contract which comes either as ‘SIM only‘ or for a bit extra per month with a low specification Android smartphone included. As I write this the three phones offered are the Samsung Galaxy Y, the Acer Liquid Z3 and the Tecmobile You 40.
Shebang say that after six months customers can upgrade to a 24 month contract and get a high end smartphone.
The tariffs look pricey but come with unlimited minutes and text messages and 5GB per month of data.
The phone will be connected to the 3 mobile phone network, and it looks like Shebang will be acting as a MVNO (Mobile virtual network operator) in a similar way to Virgin Mobile piggy backing onto the EE network and Tesco Mobile using the O2 network of mobile masts.
Shebang might not be a name consumers have heard of but in the mobile phone industry they are a well known name having run distribution companies supplying phones and accessories. They also owned Affordable Mobiles and Go Mobile before selling them to A1 Comms, owners of buymobiles.net.
