Doro PhoneEasy 508 basic straightforward mobile phone
Have you ever thought “I just need a basic mobile phone that makes and receives calls” when looking at modern mobiles packed with web browsers and all sorts of other features? If you have then Doro had you in mind when they created their range of straightforward mobile phones.
I recently got to handle a Doro PhoneEasy 508 mobile phone when a relative asked me to help them get a replacement for their ancient Siemens A50 phone. A friend of theirs had purchased a Doro mobile phone from Tesco.
We looked at what was available from Doro including clamshell phones such as the Doro PhoneEasy 612 before settling on the conventional Doro PhoneEasy 508 with its colour display above the well designed keypad.
Doro mobile phones are widely available unlocked and SIM free from retailers such as Carphone Warehouse and Argos so those who already have a mobile phone can just swap their existing SIM card into the Doro and be up and running.
One feature I really liked on the Doro PhoneEasy 508 is the row of four ‘easy access’ buttons just above the number keypay. Two of these can be assigned to frequently called numbers making dialing them really quick and easy, the next button swithes a LED light on and off allowing the phone to be used as a torch, and the final but takes yiou straight to SMS text messaging.
