Outdoor wall socket kit on sale at Aldi (and Screwfix too)

Looking at Aldi’s upcoming special offers for 16th November 2014 they are advertising an Outdoor Wall Socket Kit.

This comprises a IP66 rated outdoor weatherproof double UK electrical socket, 3 metres of cable and a rewireable RCD plug.

The price Aldi are advertising looked pretty good until I did an internet search and discovered Screwfix are selling what looks to be an identical outdoor power socket kit with RCD plug, and as I write this it is £5 cheaper than the Aldi one.

Screwfix describe the kit as a ‘Temporary Outdoor Power Solution‘ and I have to say I would not want to use something like this as a permanent long term fixture but rather get a qualified electrician to install something more suitable.
