Seiki TV assembled in the UK

I was wandering around a Currys store and spotted a display of Seiki branded televisions. The thing that grabbed my attention was some of the boxes had the phrase “This TV was assembled in the UK” emblazoned on the box.

Why ‘assembled’ and not ‘made’? Were they just bolted together from a kit of parts made elsewhere?

I did a bit of digging and came across a July 2014 article in the South Wales Evening Post about the owner of the Seiki brand, Hong Kong based Tongfang, opening a plant in Port Talbot.
